Daily Devotional by PASTOR JERRY EZE (16-12-2025)
“And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” (Luke 18: 39)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
When the blind man in our Scripture Reading called out to Jesus, there were many who tried to hush him. Many voices arose to shut him up. He was seeking the mercy of Jesus, so that he could receive his sight, but there were voices standing by, trying to shut him up. Some people did not want his voice to be heard. Some people did not want Jesus to hear him. Some people were uncomfortable with the idea of hearing his voice.
Friend, as you arise to seek that your voice is heard, there will always be people seeking to shut you up. There are people who can’t wait to ensure that no one ever hears your voice in high places. There are people who see the mercy of God coming your way and they can’t wait to hinder it. There are people waiting to gang up against you because they perceive that it is finally your time and your turn. People will arise to shut you up.
The good news is that as they tried to shut up the blind man, he cried even more until Jesus heard him. He refused to be stopped by his stoppers. In fact, his stoppers became a reason for him to scream so much the more. Let the activities of your haters fuel your passion. As they try to shut you up, push harder. As they try to stop you, do more, be more, insist on succeeding more, raise your game, improve on your efforts, and don’t stop.
It is the duty of your haters and opposers to try to stop you; but it your responsibility to refuse to be stopped by them. The more your haters hate you, the more you should seek the mercies of God. The more you meet opposition that wants to stop you, the more you should resolve that nothing is enough to stop you. The more conspiracies are cooked against you, the more you should decide that you must never bow to their wickedness.
Welcome to that season where your voice cannot be silenced by the haters and opposers around you. Welcome to that season where every opposition should make you seek Jesus more.
Psalm 18: 29 says: “For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.”
Declare With Me: No matter the opposition against me, I will not be stopped or silenced, in Jesus’ name!
